Transient Echoes

Transient Echoes depicts beach scenes; of turquoise hues, bright sunshine and people at leisure. But witnessing these large-scale photographs belie the scene being performed. The bleached-out coloration results in the merging of spatiality and time; boundaries between water/land and human/ground become questionable, even indistinguishable.  The excessively bright turquoise hues represent a facade of happiness, highlighting how things appear serene or perfect while hiding complexities beneath the surface. The photographs are metaphors for the human condition, and ask a simple but complex question; who are we, what are we? Importantly, the fading bodies in the photographs speak to our transience, our vulnerability, our mortality.
